erythema-ab-igne

Wow...a new entry already!

Yesterday, dd13 came to me and showed me the most amazing discoloration on her left calf...a mottled, "reticulated" pattern. It looked like this, but on her front calf. It totally scared me, and I tried to find it on the internet and couldn't. The only reference I could find was a mottled skin condition caused by reaction to drugs for Parkinson's Disease. Not likely. Or something to do with Lupus, or Lyme disease.....FREAK-OUT!!!!!

First thing today, I took her to the kids' doctor, who took one look, and promptly took us to the head doctor at the clinic, who took one look and promptly told him to refer us to a dermatologist, post haste. Neither, it seems had ever seen anything like it before!

We drove to the "professionals center" where we waited to see the dermatologist, who took one look at it and said "no question...it's from sitting too close to a heater!" So that was it. It's called erythema-ab-igne. The top left picture is exactly how her leg looks! So know I know. Well, dd13 DOES spend alot of time in front of the computer with the heater turned on and radiating onto her leg. I think I shall change that heater to a space heater (with blow fan).

Another weird disease for my baby girl!

Other than that....the puppies are just starting to open their eyes.
They are so cute!!!
