SICK 1: My dear sweet daughter's flu;
SICK 2: The hanging of the sicko - SH!;
SICK 3: A disturbing English workbook I came across in the bookstore.
I have been up since 5am, took dogs to park, they got totally mud-packed, spent an hour cleaning them and the floor (still need to attack the car), then time doing lots of stuff on my Enlgish Teachers (non-)forums....
And now I am tired....AND POSSIBLY, SICK 4, my throat hurts.
It is incredibally cold these days. The heater is warming me up and dehydrating me at the same time. I must drink more water!!!! Hopefully, that is the only reason my throat hurts.
Concerning the workbook:
This is the post i posted to the English Teachers Israel Forum. It lacks some explanations, i know, but I don't have the patience now.

You may have heard of the Machon ABC .
Yesteday, while looking for a workbook for one of my students, I happened upon the "Master-E" Summer Workbook for grades 6/7 by Janna Neniouc. Have any of you every seen it and READ the "poem" about that crocodile (or alligator??)
I found it really disturbing. Is it just me? Forget the fact that the rhyming, meter, and language were rather screwy....Embedded within the text of the poem, I saw a (disturbing) parable for the Israeli/Palestinian problem. And even if I am wrong in that concept...do parents want poems of puppy-swallowing alligators and "mean" boys torturing alligators, and animals bent on anarchy, for their kids?
I am loathe to actually BUY the book (only 22 shekels..but if I am correct, would I want to support it?) Does anyone actually have this book to share with us... perhaps at the next get together?
I also read through the Master-E book for grades 8/9, filled with many diary entries. While I liked her concept of the design and content of the book, some of those diary entries were awfully depressing! Maybe that is what 14-16 year-olds identify with! Besides that, there were also tons of English grammar/usage mistakes.

Concerning my daughter...she is really sick, and actually hit 40.1 C last night. She is resting comfortably now.

Concerning the hanging of SH... good riddance of REALLY bad rubbish, yet it disturbs me the fact of taking his life. Now go explain that. I would have been happier had he been gunned down trying to escape.
Now, I'm going to 1) cuddle a puppy, and then 2) go upstairs to bury myself under my comforter and read my html book.
