My mom's condition is just as bad as a week ago...if not worse, with no end in sight. Every moan and groan runs like a shiver up my back. I want to scream. I appreciate that she is in pain, and it hurts and she yells, but it is making me crazy.
So far, she has had 2 x-rays, and one "isotopic bone scan", and they have all come to the same conclusion...that she has vertebral compression fracture of L1. I got an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, who told me she has an vertegral compression fractures. He gave her a referral to the back clinic at the hospital. Great...the first appointment is 2-1/2 months away. So far the only treatment is just against the pain, but not to treating the cause of the problem.
Today we spent many hours (total out of the house..5) getting an isotropic bone scan. I am so exhausted. I am a terrible 'nurturer"...that's all for now!
