On the other hand, I had a cleaning lady come to work on her house yesterday!!! Yay. On Saturday, the bunch of us (without mom, of course) descended on her place and did some purging. Among MANY other things (and besides what we put out last Tuesday!) we threw out a bowl-full of pen tops (waiting for their mates, that are probably long gone), about 8 bottles of dried-out tippex, stored, neatly in a bag, many bits and pieces of games and toys that she had picked up. About 25 pens that didn't work anymore, etc.
Well, the place is "viewable" now...but still a way to go. Next step will be to "sterilize" the kitchen and get rid of all the grunge and scrunge on the cupboards, fridge, etc.
Other than her "collecting" obsession, she has another that is looking very out-of-control, and that is her penchant to cover EVERYTHING with a plastic bag or plastic book cover. Even the cheapest crappiest pocketbooks are covered with plastic, like ready for library duty. I opened her sock drawer to find her a pair of socks, and found plastic bags staring at me, each one of which I had to open to see what was inside. Most were filled with a few single socks...sorted according to color. Where are the mates? Who knows.
On other vistas: I am soooooooooooooo ready to end this school year. The pressure of end-of-year combined with mom is just getting me down. Not to mention the fact of some surprises that one of the mom's of one of the groups pulled on me and put my "star" performer into a swimming class, which cuts into our lesson, and screwed up our rehearsals. Now I am trying to find just one measly hour that we can all meet, and it isn't working out at all.
Zillions of emails are flying, and for every date, SOMEONE has a reason they can't do it...arghghgh. I finally sent this email:

As busy as can be.

Eight assorted people,
Can't seem to get in tune.
Swimming, classes, parties,
Trips to out of town.
This effort to coordinate
Can really get one down.
I only need an hour
To practice or for fun

Can't we find one - only one.
I don't mind on a Friday
Shabbat would work; that too.
Please get yourselves together
And tell me what to do!
If there is no alternative
I'll have to call it quits
And make the party Tuesday,
With all the skits in bits.

Monday (30) All afternoon and evening.
As you can see..I live a very boring life!!! ha ha....
Perhaps you could work out between yourselves and find the hour needed.
If it doesn't work out...that we will make the party on Tuesday, as originally planned, (except at 5) and everyone will be REALLY understanding and appreciative, even if we muck up a bit.
