I had my final end-of-year party in Rehovot with the group of small kids. This is the group I really don't like too much. There is one kid who knows tons, and talks a lot, and the other 4 are so shy. One is just so shy that she often cries in the middle of a lesson. One of the kids is rather young (about 3) and so he has different needs that the other four. Anyways, we did the play of the Little Red Hen, which is a great play for such a group since one has a huge part, and the others just have to say "not me". So it went off well.
I had a great craft idea to do with them, but because there were even younger folk around which distracted attentions, it didn't go so well. We played a game, sang a song, I gave out Certificates and small gifts and had some food. The end. I got a neat gift, being some ceramic thing-a-ma-jig to make antipasti in the microwave. Cool.
Last Tuesday I had the end of year for the other Rehovot group...the group I absolutely adore. We did seven skits, of which you can see the script here . That was more or less the whole program. The kids were great, and even the "non-talkers" had a part to do. This group gave me a very heavy, interesting ceramic fruit bowl and platter. Nice, but I don't need it and have no place for it, so I shall exchange it tomorrow. This groups also began asking about next year, so I guess I will have work with them for another year. The other group, by the way, didn't mention such a thing. Anyways, I don't think I would want to take that group as it is again.
I put up signs for "summer school" but have yet no response. I will be just as happy being totally lazy this summer.
My mom is still very bad, but had a CT done on Monday and the specialist we took her to saw it yesterday, and has booked her for a bone-sement injection for next Monday. So I hope this will finally relieve her of her pain. Although I see on the net that often people have vertebral fractures without pain, my mom is certainly not one of them. Poor thing.
The cleaning lady came for the 3rd time today, and her house is really shaping up. Sis and I did a lot of sorting and stuff and got rid of more stuff. I am undecided what to do with those boxes of wool and yarn, though. Dump it all (I would give it to a retirement club where there are women who would use it)...but maybe I will want it some day...oh no, I am as bad as mom!!
(Some of it is really nice wool, and quantities!)
Today, being the first day of vacation, I also got started cleaning my house but good. I always have high expectations in the morning, about how i will zoom my way around the house, from back to front, from bottom to top, and all around the outside, and just clean and polish and shine like a whirlwind, and in no time my house will be perfect. Alas...it doesn't work that way. All i managed today was a grand tidy of the downstairs, and to wash the floor (livingroom not included). Sigh. But I did give Pepper another haircut, and also got the ironing done (with dd's help!).
Now I am off to obedience classes with Pepper.
Bye
